Drew Pluemer & Matthew Galea Fight at AAU Team Trials

Drew Pluemer and Matthew Galea made top 4 at AAU Nationals in June and fought for a t AAU team trials last weekend. Drew Pluemer went undefeated to become the 2011-2012 AAU National Team Member for his division. Congratulations to both!

Thomas Rahimi and Hanssel Llanos makes Senior Team Trials in Jan 2012

Thomas Rahimi win Men’s Light Weight Division to become US National Champion.  Hanssel lost a great match in Semis to make team trials in Jan.  Both will be competing US Senior Team Trials in Jan.

Matthew Galea and Drew Pluemer makes AAU Team Trials held in September.

NTA sent two competitors in 14-17 Black Belt division for AAU Nationals and placed both in Team Trials.  Both Matt and Drew will be competing in September for the AAU Team.  Good Luck Guys

Logan Gerick and Morgan Glover makes team trials for USA Junior Team to compete for the US in the Pan Am.

Logan Gerick and Morgan Glover will be competing in US Team Trials held at US Olympic Training Center and the end of the month.  Logan won the National Championships in the 14-17 Black Belt in Fly weight division and Morgan Placed 3rd in 14-17 Girls Light Weight.  What a great year for our 14-17 Black Belt Division Athletes.  Out of 7 competitors, 6 made the Quarter Finals.  Sam Scott lost a close match to Greg English in the Quarters who ended up winning the tournament.  Connor Willson got a bye  -won two matches and lost to Silva – eventual champion for that division.  Brenden Glover destroyed his first two and lost to the eventual champion in the quarters.  Matthew Galea, lost a close 7-6 in the quarter.  Joe Augon also lost a close decision in the first round.

Mrs Thu will be representing U.S.A. in The World Poomse Championships in Russia end of this Month

Our own Thu Doolittle “the poomse director” for NTA will be representing USA in the World Championships held in Russia.  Please take a minute to wish her good luck.

NTA Taekwondo Named the School of the year by USAT – 4 years in a row.

NTA was named again the school of the year by the USAT during the opening ceremonies at the Junior Olympics.

Master Cha named the Coach of the year by USAT

During the opening ceremonies, Master Cha was awarded the plaque for the USAT Coach of the year for 2011.

Congrats to Thomas, Matthew, Logan, and Sam for making the Texas State Team for Korea Exchange Program

Thomas Rahimi, Matthew Galea, Logan Gereck, and Sam Scott will be traveling to “Kyung Hee” Sport University in Korea for a 10 day exchange program sponsored by the Texas State Taekwondo Association. The 12 member Team were selected past Saturday after a 3 hour training session from the pool of top 2 finishers at 2010 Texas State Championships in black belt division for 14 and up. Master Cha will be joining them as a coach for the Texas State Team. Texas team will live at the Athlete Complex from August 10-19.
